Miguel and Tim

Major and graduation year: computer science ’10 and civil engineering ’10
Hometown: Boonville, Mo. and St. Louis
Residence: Mark Twain

Tips about roommates: (Miguel) Talk to them. Your roommate will probably be your newest and best friend. Plus, if you don’t get along with your roommate you will need to be able to talk to them so you can work out a compromise. (Tim) Respect their space and become good friends.

Favorite things from home:
(Tim) Sports equipment and cards, these are good things to clear your head during finals week.

Things to leave behind: (Miguel) That 12,000 giga-amp surround sound system you have. You really do not want to become that guy who can be heard three blocks over every night. Plus, people can get really annoyed by it.

Things I wish I had done/known: (Tim) Set aside a time every day to study and do homework, and try to finish within that time instead of procrastinating. (Miguel) I wish I’d joined student clubs and groups faster. I had too much free time as a freshman, and I wish I could have changed that.

What I’m really glad I brought: (Tim) A box of random small supplies: stamps, envelopes, a sewing kit, a lint roller, scissors, tape and other items like that.

Best things about living in a residence hall:
(Miguel) You get the opportunity to meet a wide variety of people and make many friends.
